The case: dissatisfaction with the smile
A patient came to us with a clear concern: she had been bothered by her smile for years, especially her upper front teeth. The teeth next to her central incisors were naturally cone-shaped – small and pointed.
During the intake, she indicated that she was bothered by:

Previous treatments
Her previous dentist had already built up the teeth with composite to improve the shape. Although this gave temporary results, the patient was no longer satisfied and wanted to review all options again.
To make her wishes concrete, we had her point out on a large screen exactly what bothered her about her smile and teeth. This way, we could create a clear treatment plan together.
The solution: porcelain veneers
After discussing all options, we chose porcelain veneers for this case. Together with our dental technician, we determined the design and decided to treat from canine to canine. By restoring the correct length-to-width ratios, we could create a beautiful, natural smile again.
Step 1: Whitening
Because the patient was also not satisfied with the colour of her teeth, we started with the VLIJT Tandartsen whitening protocol. This allowed us to achieve a lighter base colour before the veneers were placed.
Step 2: Gum correction
We performed minor gum corrections so that the teeth could be made longer and wider.
Step 3: Preparation & placement of veneers
We then removed old fillings and prepared the teeth for the veneers. Finally, we placed the porcelain veneers, which seamlessly matched her wishes in terms of colour and shape.
The result
